Local Unit Handbook Requirements
(2007-2008)
The following are the
required elements for the publication contest. Publications postmarked after November 15th
will be graded but will not receive an award. Send directory only when combined
with the handbook. If the
requirements are not followed exactly, points will be deducted. All required elements should be included
in the publication to maintain its integrity as a PTA publication. If the local unit and/or the council does
not plan parent education programs or has not done so at the date of
publication this must be noted in the book.
Bylaw approval date must be shown by including as part of the book a
copy of the bylaws page with the Texas PTA stamped approval date. Please note in book or on this form if
an item is not applicable to your school to insure proper credit. Suggestions for the placement of optional
content are included but are not used in grading. “PTA” is a registered trademark and should not
have periods or hyphens.
